About Toodyay

Toodyay lies within the rolling hills of the picturesque Avon Valley, approximately 85 kilometres east of Perth. Founded in 1836, Toodyay still has some of its early architecture from the convict era. Flowing through town is the Avon River which is home to the world’s longest white-water race, the Avon Descent.

Toodyay has a rich landscape and cultural heritage attractive to both tourists and locals. Residents love Toodyay’s small-town, country lifestyle and enjoy its many facilities and attractions.

Throughout the year, the community comes together to participate in a variety of significant events including the Toodyay Picnic Race Day, the Toodyay International Food Festival and the Avon Descent.
