The Toodyay Race Club regrets to advise that due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and the short lead time to organise the event, a decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Toodyay Picnic Race Day scheduled for Sunday 27 September.
Since 1865, the Toodyay races have been a highlight in the Avon Valley community calendar and one that many people look forward to.
The Toodyay Race Club Chairman John Prater said that it was a decision that was not made lightly.
“It was a difficult decision not to proceed with this year’s race day, but given the current climate it was one that the committee felt was necessary,” Mr Prater said.
“We are a volunteer committee who work hard to ensure that we provide patrons with the best race day experience possible – an effort that unfortunately takes many months of planning and preparation.”
“The Toodyay races is undoubtedly a very special day and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the track in 2021.”
